Individual Learning Accounts

Individual Learning Accounts (ILA's) are a new way to help you pay for your learning. Backed by the Government and supported by colleges and other learning providers, employers and others, ILA's offer a package of discounts which makes it easier for you to get into learning.

Who can open an ILA?
Anyone that is over 19 can apply for an ILA.

What do I get?
You can claim from amongst the following discounts:

  • 80% off the cost of some kinds of learning e.g. computer skills, up to a maximum of £200 per year;
  • 20% off the cost of a wide range of learning, up to a maximum value of £100 per year;
  • If you are one of the first million Account Holders per year, you will receive up to £150 off the cost of your learning, provided you put in £25 of your own money.

Further Information
You can read more at the ILA website www.my-ila.com, you can download the brochure from our downloads page, or you can call the ILA Centre on 0800 072 5678. You can also ask your learning provider for an application form.
